He was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1991. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2014.

His journey to United States started in 2014, August when he joined the Michigan State University for his master study in Civil Engineering with a concentration of Pavement Engineering. After he had achieved his Master of Science degree in 2016 at the Michigan State University, he started his PhD at the Northeastern University with a concentration of Geotechnical Engineering focusing on the Earthquake Engineering and he also received his Master of Science degree in Construction Management along the way to the PhD. He is currently working as a research assistant under the supervision of Prof. Mishac Yegian.

He has a strong research background with expertise in analyses of seismic ground motion, liquefaction susceptibility as well as mitigation techniques of liquefaction hazards. He has also worked on several projects which led him to gain experience in slope stability analyses as well as designing shallow and deep foundations after reviewing boring logs and laboratory tests of the field site.

He was also a Teaching Assistant for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering courses and he taught laboratory classes for Soil Mechanics and Construction Material.
